About Jazmin
E-RYT 500, YACEP
Jazmin Ment is a seasoned senior yoga teacher whose practice and teaching flow from the integrated understanding of asana, breath, meditation, and the art of living her yoga into life. With a profound respect for the body's innate wisdom, she views yoga as a means to reconnect with our truest selves, unraveling patterns of fear and separation through embodiment, deep listening and compassionate self-inquiry.
Steeped in yoga from an early age through her mother, a devoted practitioner, Jazmin began attending formal Iyengar classes at age seven. From the start, yoga was never separate from life—it was woven into how she moved, how she related to others, and how she experienced the world. This early immersion taught her, not without difficulty, the importance of caring for the body, maintaining an open, creative mind, and cultivating a compassionate heart. These values continue to guide her both on and off the mat.
Jazmin considers herself a student first and always. With thousands of hours of study and over 500 accredited E-RYT teacher training hours, her understanding of yoga, meditation, the human body, and well-being is both extensive and heartfelt. Jazmin first studied to become a teacher with Ganga White and Tracy Rich in here Santa Barbara. She soon after completed her 300-hour advanced teacher training with Rodney Yees and Colleen Saidman Yee, her primary teachers and mentors since she was a teenager. In recent years, she remains a guest teacher at their studio and considers them her primary teachers. Jazmin co-created and co-leads 200hr and 300hr yoga teacher trainings where she lives in Santa Barbara, sharing her knowledge and lineage with students and fellow teachers alike.
Jazmin’s teaching weaves together the precision and alignment of Iyengar yoga with the flowing, creative movement of Vinyasa and the devoted principles of Ashtanga. Her classes invite students to explore postural alignment, breath, and meditation while cultivating space for listening, self-inquiry, and deep rest. Thoughtful sequencing, anatomical awareness, all while leaving space for a little humor and lots of realness, create a welcoming space for students to connect more fully in body, mind, and spirit.
When not teaching, Jazmin is often surfing in the ocean or adventuring in the mountains—going great lengths to seek stillness, awe, and the lessons nature reflects back to us: to listen, to be humble, and to be fully present with the beauty of all things.
